About the Department

The Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities is a part of B. Tech Program. It teaches and promotes practical aspects of Applied Sciences and Humanities to build a solid foundation as part of the Engineering Education. The Department prepares students for core engineering branches by educating them in the basic science of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the first year. The Department also teaches the students to connect pure and basic science like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Environmental Science with engineering practices.
The Department of Applied Science and Humanities of GGGI has full-fledged Physics and Chemistry laboratories along with all the state of the art latest equipments and accessories. The Department also has a fully developed Communication Skills Lab to improve the communication skills of all students. The Department also runs classes of Personality Development Program (PDP) for all the students to enhance their personality for professional life.

To develop a strong scientific foundation through fundamental principles of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to pursue a successful engineering career and to train the students to apply these basic principles in real world situation

Objectives

To stimulate curiosity among the students and make them to understand the importance of Science and Technology which are the two faces of a coin

To provide the knowledge and understanding of latest developments in Science so that the students can explore it for the development of Technology

To stimulate “Research Attitude” among the students so that they could be innovators and inventers of tomorrow

To provide the knowledge of Applied Sciences to the students and exposure to laboratory work using logical, analytic as well as observatory instruments
